Tasmanian-based sires enjoyed a strong day at Elwick on Sunday, headlined by Grenville Stud’s Stratosphere, who produced a winning double through Billie The Great and Sir Jag.

There was depth across the program from other stallions as well. Toorak Toff added another winner to his record with his daughter Goddess Of Rock, he also appears as the broodmare sire of Billie The Great, while proven influence Tough Speed struck early when Zewinna claimed Race 1. Woodsmith continued his excellent run of form, with his three‑year‑old gelding Geegees Ace breaking his maiden in style.

The influence extended across the Tasman too, with Mongolian Khan — bred at Grenville Stud — siring another winner in New Zealand.
