Tasmanian breeders and racing enthusiasts will have a rare opportunity to get up close and personal with Group 1-winning stallion Sizzling when Magnum Park Stud hosts a special “Meet & Greet” on Sunday, 13 September from noon.
Sizzling is standing his first season at Magnum Park Stud at Old Beach, just 25 kilometres from Hobart, and stud principal Alexis Beadman is planning something a little different from the traditional stallion parade.
Rather than simply parading the stallion, visitors will have the opportunity to meet Sizzling, give him a pat and even have their photograph taken with him.
“Because Sizzling is so laid-back and friendly, we will be allowing people to come and pat him and have their photo taken with our boy,” Beadman said.
“We want to keep the day very informal and encourage people to come along, meet us, have a chat and get to know our team, as well as take the opportunity to inspect our 350-acre property here at Magnum Park,” Beadman added.
The relaxed afternoon will give breeders and racing enthusiasts the chance to not only inspect Sizzling but also take a look around Magnum Park and learn more about the stud and its team.
The Meet & Greet will also provide breeders with an opportunity to discuss their mares and mating options while getting a first-hand look at what Sizzling can offer the Tasmanian breeding industry.
A Group 1-winning son of champion sire Snitzel, Sizzling was a brilliant two-year-old and multiple Group winner before going on to establish himself as a proven sire.
He has produced 217 individual winners and more than $20 million in progeny earnings, boasting an outstanding winners-to-runners strike rate of more than 66 per cent.
His leading performers include multiple stakes winners Secret Blaze and Big Shots, the latter a winner of the Magic Millions WA 2YO Classic.
Sizzling has also produced a strong list of stakes performers including Blazing Miss, Burning Power, Sizzling Belle, Sizzleme, Sizzlefly, Hot Relation and Sizzling Ace.
By Snitzel from the stakes-placed General Nediym mare Admirelle, Sizzling also boasts plenty of quality on his dam’s side, with Admirelle being a daughter of stakes winner Laudemio.
Beadman believes Sizzling’s combination of race performance, pedigree and proven results at stud makes him an exciting addition to Tasmania’s stallion ranks.
“He was an outstanding racehorse with genuine speed, toughness and presence, and we feel he offers something very exciting for Tasmanian breeders,” Beadman said.
