Former Tasmanian-trained mare Bine will begin the next chapter of her career in New Zealand after selling for $42,500 through the latest Magic Millions Online Sale.

Previously trained by Adam Trinder, Bine was purchased by New Zealand breeding powerhouse Cambridge Stud and is likely to be mated with Golden Slipper winner Faran.

Bine is by Armidale Stud’s Needs Further from the Falbrav mare Distinctive and boasts plenty of quality further back in her pedigree.

Her second dam is outstanding sprinting mare Special, one of the stars of Australian racing during the late 1980s. Special’s major victories included the VRC Newmarket Handicap, Moir Stakes, VRC Lightning Stakes and Gadsden Stakes.

Bine was originally offered at the 2022 Magic Millions Tasmanian Yearling Sale, where she sold for $65,000, before going on to win six races.

Her acquisition by Cambridge Stud provides another strong endorsement of the Tasmanian bloodlines she carries, with Bine now set to add a new chapter to an already successful family in the breeding barn.
